Finally, a use for the flash mob:
Interwebnet.org (NB: some content may offend) is seeking help in tracking down Mr. Bush during his visit to the UK so that people in Britain can share their views of the war with him:
"If you see George W. Bush, know of a possible location ahead of time, or have images of him (or protestors) to share, then send them to: bush@interwebnet.orgTo text information to this address, enter this email address, then a space, then your message and send to: 07766 404142"
Why? Well, although Mr. Bush congratulates us on living in a country "that encourages people to speak their mind", some people feel that he does not really want to hear what we have to say, because no protestors will be allowed within sight or earshot of his route. Also, asking for the right to deploy battelfield munitions on our streets and shoot people with impunity should he so wish hardly seems conducive to free and open debate.
This could be a text-book example of what Howard Rheingold calls Smart Mobs, and it will be an interesting test of how far these ideas and techniques have permeated popular consciousness.
