Upcoming social software-related events

There are a series of juicy events coming up, each of which focuses on a different aspect of social software:

London EuropaBlog: Blogs in Action - London, March 24:

Alistair from Six Apart is organising a soiree at the Polish Club in partnership with Nokia Lifeblog that with speakers including the Guardian's Neil McIntosh and Dominque Busso from VNU Europe.

Internet 2.0: Les Blogs - Paris, April 25:

The wonderfully energetic and enthusiastic Loic LeMeur of Six Apart has organised what looks like a useful European gathering of people involved in business uses of social software. I will be speaking on a panel about corporate blogging: external & internal communication alongside Euan Semple, Ross from Socialtext, Andrew Carton and Halley Suitt. This should be fun!

The Skoll World Forum on Social Entrepreneurship - Oxford, March 29-April 1:

This high-profile event will bring together social entrepreneurs from around the world at the prestigious Said Business School to discuss the role of networks and networking perspectives in "exploring the impacts and workings of social ventures." With speakers such as E-Bay founder Jeff Skoll, Charles Handy, Charlie Leadbetter and Geoff Mulgan, this should be an interesting few days. Myself and Martin Vogel, Director of the BBC iCan project, will be talking about the role of social software as an enabler for social organisations; at the same time, Paul Hodgkin will talk about the innovative Patient Opinion project and its role in the future of the health service, which we are proud to be associated with.

Making Knowledge Work - London, May 17-18:

Another excellent conference from Dave Gurteen, this time looking at what we need to do to be more creative, innovative and effective in the knowledge economy. I will be speaking about how to create an infrastructure of connected conversations within organisations, and the benefits this can provide. Also taking part will be some excellent speakers such as Dave Snowden, Clive Holtham and Victor Newman.

If you are interested in practical applications of social software and will be anywhere near these places at these times, then please say hello.
