Our Social World Conference

The Our Social World conference is well underway here at Churchill College Cambridge, and a variety of speakers are covering different aspects of social software and its implications for the future. There is a "river of news" (feed) here that carries updates on the conference blog and wiki, and Ross is blogging it as well. There are some photos on Flickr too.

I spoke briefly about the role of social tagging in developing shared meaning and language within both work-related and life-related group applications. My presentation is here for those that have requested it. The presentation also announced today's launch of the wonderful Patient Opinion project, which our friends and partners up in Sheffield have worked so hard to bring to fruition. We will write up a longer post on this launch later, and on the Patient Opinion project weblog.

Anyway, I am showing signs of sleep deprivation and there is an inviting well-kept lawn outside the window, so I think I will leave the note taking to others better equipped than myself. Lunch and general refreshments are above par - thanks guys - and that's even before Hugh cracks open the Stormhoek 'bloggers wine' freebie...

Patient Opinion is an excellent example of a work that will add to the collective understanding of the value the British NHS delivers.
