Network-centric management

Martin Duggage came for lunch recently and left the draft of his book that frustrates my pathetic schoolboy French, and we had a good chat about the challenges of doing social software projects in large companies.

His subsequent presentation at Educa Berlin is well worth a read for its musing on network-centric management and the way he brings together the notion of communities of practice solidifying from social networks. I have often queried the term CoP, which sounds rather dull and guild-like, but actually Martin has helped me see that they do have a role to play as special types of group within a network.
