I'm heading towards UP Fing, the annual conference organised by the Internet New Generation Federation (FING), that takes place in La Baume near Aix en Provence.
FING is a national association that deals in new technologies and has gained respect and attention among private sector, public administration and research by organising amazing conferences. One of them being "les carrefours des possibles" that offers locally selected project holders a public space to present their project: a good place to take the pulse of creativity and entrepreneurship. The also run a collective blog, Internet Actu, that is a great source of info.
This year the topic of the "Spring University" (UP) is on innovation and its mixed impact on the overall society. I would personally say it's a very post-modern approach as the underlying assumption is that technology is more an issue than an opportunity. [For those into history of thoughts, the Frankfurt School and some followers of Heidegger are key sources to capture that perspective.]
I will be a speaker at the workshop dedicated to innovation in corporations. Management of innovation obviously is the core topic but I will be focussing on the role of social computing in innovation processes. It's also a good opportunity to highlight couple of cases, successful, and not successful.
