Anil Dash talks about this week's announcements from Six Apart and confirms the acquisition of the talented and wonderful Apperceptive, who will become Six Apart's New York office and the basis of a services division, plus an advertising programme for bloggers. More from TechCrunch here. Elsewhere, Sarah Lacy writes about how well Chris Alden (another super nice guy) has done since taking the helm last year.
Good moves both. Anil swung by Headshift HQ a couple of weeks ago, so we got a bit of insight into this announcement and also heard about some exciting ideas for Movable Type's development. He also kindly mentioned our work rebuilding the BBC's blogging platform in an interview with the Blog Herald.
There are several good blogging tools out there, of course, but knowing that there is a solid, growing company committed to developing and extending Movable Type as an enterprise blog platform (and a consumer product, and an open source system) is re-assuring for the long term.
