Headshift is seeking an experienced Technical Consultant to join our growing social software consulting team, based in London. You will be a core member of the team and expected to guide the technical aspects of projects. This will involve analysing client requirements and matching them with platforms, products or custom development and recommending a technical architecture for the project. You will work closely with social software consultants and developers to estimate work effort at the proposal stage and document recommended solutions and configurations.
A good deal of this role centres around problem solving and strategic thinking. You will need to be able to identify potential technical problems with certain approaches in advance and formulate ways to mitigate against them. Your recommendations will be the basis for the technical implementation so a very good understanding of development methodologies and programming frameworks and languages is essential, you will probably have been a developer in the past. Any experience with popular blogging and wiki platforms is a distinct advantage and general knowledge and interest in social software is essential.
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the leading social computing consultancies and help formulate and deliver innovative, cutting-edge solutions for a varied and interesting client portfolio. As such, in addition to very high technical standards, we also expect you to have excellent social and communication skills and be used to working in a team environment.
We'll offer a competitive salary, an informal working environment (no suits required) in a great location and fabulous office in Shad Thames / Butler's Wharf, where you'll have easy access to great coffee, good restaurants and get to work alongside a bunch of knowledgeable and passionate people joined together by a desire to help change the way people collaborate and communicate.
