bridge the gap: thought and technology
Jens-Christian Fischer
Jens-Christian started his IT career 22 years ago, when computers were
real computers, and had none of the fancy windows and mouse
appendages, as they have now. A Lotus Notes veteran with 15 years of
experience, partly as vendor of Notes Development, Consulting and
Training, part responsible for various implementation tasks at a multi
national industrial cooperation, he came in contact with the web early
on and tried to integrate cutting edge technologies like Wikis in the
workplace when Wikipedia was nowhere to be seen.Later he started working with different web technologies, ending up
with Ruby on Rails. He has just published a book on the matter, speaks
regularly at Rails conferences and has implemented several successful
projects.Besides his grip on technology, he has an education in organisational
development, organisation and likes to bridge the gap between business
and technology by speaking both languages and facilitating
communications. He lives with his family in Zurich.
