Fabio Sergio writes about the end of year show at Ivrea – probably the best Interaction Design Institute around right now
A man with taste, he likes Natasha‘s work, who is a good friend of mine. Nat was behind the design for Muslim Heritage, which is a tremendously valuable site run by friends of ours
How strange it must be for this generation of IVREANS to emerge from their tellytubby bubble home into a far less playful economy than when they entered. Still, talent will out, and I am sure that Nat, David and their colleagues will be influential figures in the future of interaction design
Still, at least she missed the “braveheart period”, which some areas of the industry are still experiencing

Let’s have a little ‘friends of Nat’ discussion: Nat’s project concerning the self-referentiality of electronic objects also reminds me of Stelarc’s latest piece: The Prosthetic Head. I actually went to talk to the Head when it was shown at the ICA here in London. When you ask the Head ‘who are you?’ it actually answers with pieces of its code whereas concerning other questions it will give pretty human(oid) answers whilst continually learning from the conversations it has. — So, whilst playing (clearly visually) with the notion of antropomorphism, it equally clearly maintains its identity as an AI object.
