Weblogs make good travel guides

barcabook_big.gifReturning from a delightful tour of Barcelona’s wonderful architecture, I noticed Ben Hammersley promoting Andrew Losowsky’s book-of-the-blog about his life in this lovely city.

Closer to home, Dan Hill has lovingly recorded his experience of the enigmatic Senate House during the recent Open House day in London. Now that’s what I call blogging: well written, informative, good photos and conveying the authentic voice of the author. A pleasure to read, even for somebody whose association with the building has historically revolved around meeting girls there.

Travel broadens the mind, and weblogs can broaden the concept of travel writing.
