In case you don’t know (and you probably should), Dave Gurteen runs a very informative web site and newsletters about Knowledge Management, such as the new Global Knowledge Review. He also runs an annual conference that is highly regarded and well-attended
This year the conference is titled Exploiting Social Networking in Organizations The Fifth Gurteen Knowledge Conference and it takes place next week (September 29) in West London – Booking details hereI will be speaking at the conference on the topic of Building Informal Knowledge-Sharing Networks using Social Software (see programme link above for details). I would strongly recommend the conference to our partners, clients and anybody else who is interested in how social networks and social software can be mobilised for better organsiational knowlege sharing … even if I wasn’t speaking ;-
By way of a preview, Dave has provided a link to (and made some very complimentary comments about) our paper on Social Software from last year. If that’s not enough to persuade to come along and join us, then (I’m in Ross mode now!) here is a video teaser of a talk I gave earlier this year on social knowledge sharing systems, courtesy of Thomas Burg
If you are planning to come, drop me a line and perhaps we can sneak out for a decent cup of coffee somewhere in the vicinity at some point. That’s not to suggest that the hotel venue doesn’t serve good coffee of course….
