Blogday: 5 Bosnian blog links

by

Blogday is a nice idea: say hello to 5 new weblogs from other places or areas of interest. So, not entirely for alliterative satisfaction, I present 5 interesting Bosnia-related blogs with a cultural heritage theme that I came across this week

  1. Bosna i Hercegivina turism has lush photos of many familiar places – even Kalesija – imagine! By coincidence, just this evening, I was remembering a horrible Polenta dish I ate in Vares in 1993…
  2. A Turkish photography blog – Igne Deligi – running on WordPress with some good Bosnian photographers
  3. A super gorgeous blog called Bosna folk – very impressive indeed
  4. London Sevdah – Mirza Basic’s blog about his Sevdah music project
  5. A blog post from the useful World Heritage Forum blog announcing the awarding of World Heritage City status to the old town of Mostar

(As ever, I am seeking a degree of flexibility in the definition of August 31, 2005, which I argue continues until I close my laptop.)

    Hi guys,
Thanks for featuring our project (London Sevdah) on your trully unique web site here. It is highly appreciated! I am just working now on putting your link onto London Sevdah pages too as “counter favour”.
Look out for some audio material on London Sevdah pages soon too. There is also another (dare I say) good Bosnian link which I have worked on which is under the URL of http://www.bihstudenti.com. Check it out if you like.

    Hi guys,
Just to let you know that London Sevdah now also has a blog which compliments the formal and official information found on our main site.
Please visit, post a comment and ‘unlock’ some Sevdah music recordings to be made available as free download on the blog and the main London Sevdah web site.
    Thanks,
    Mirza
