Felix Cohen

  • Felix Cohen is a technical consultant at Headshift, working in our social media team. He is a strong advocate for, and user of, free and open source tools. Prior to joining us, he worked at leading politics website openDemocracy.net as Director of Technology. He studied psychology at Bath University, producing a dissertation on the motivation of open source developers that was widely circulated within the community.

    His interests are community building and formation online, especially with regards to volunteer and expert communities, and has been involved in the design, development and maintenance of wiki's, blogs and community sites in the CSR, international politics and media areas. He has also written extensively on issues around copyright, community, network technologies and the politics of design, both for openDemocracy and on a number of blogs.

    When he can break free of the command line, he enjoys surfing, skateboarding and climbing, as well as occasionally making guest appearances behind various cocktail bars.
