  • Tim is a Ruby developer. He has a slightly serendipitous background, having studied Graphic Design and Animation and worked briefly as a designer, before realising that he wasn't actually very good at it. Luckily, he was good at programming, and a few years of tenacious self-teaching coupled with the help of a few clever colleagues and friends led him to his current position.

Tim believes very firmly that the technology behind a web application can, and should, be every bit as creative, interesting and relevant as the front-end user experience, and thrives on building solutions that reflect this. When he's not building websites, he can normally be found tinkering with functional programming languages, making and studying art (especially anything with a technological or interactive bent), and eating some of the biggest sandwiches we've ever seen. Tim is good as making his presence felt at Headshift HQ by laughing too loud.

So, the first project I've been put to work on since starting at Headshift six weeks ago was the site for Anthony Gormley's One and Other project - a pretty massive undertaking that aims to put 2400 people on...
  • Commented on Going with the flow: whither enterprise RSS?
(BTW: I think you mixed up synchronous / asynchronous above, but I get what you are saying) Heh... very possibly! I find this confusing though, I've heard COMET-style push messaging systems referred to as a 'asynchronous socket servers' more than...
