There are some interesting quotes and observations in a press release for the site that illustrate how contemporary design is retreating from the all-singing-all-dancing approaches of the recent past
The new, uniquely online aesthetic – termed ‘undesign’ by some after Tibor Kalman – isn’t so much about utilitarian minimalism as usability, reductionism and subtlety.It also shows how weblogs are influencing site design in the way that they attempt to bring greater transparency to the interaction with the user.
