Blogging was where we began, and how we built our company so we have preserved this archive to show how our thinking developed over a decade of developing the use of social technology inside organisations

Chris Adams

Technical Developer, Systems Administrator

Chris first really got into technology whilst at university, when he found it much more interesting to use what he learnt about cameras while studying film and photography to design a cure for road rage, using cheap in-car webcams, gps tracking & video sharing sites.

Since then he’s spent most of his working (and waking) life pursuing interests in open source technology and interaction design.

In previous lives he’s worked for one of London’s largest universities to redesign their million-plus page website, with social entrepreneurs to design smart co-working spaces that can talk to social networks when you step into them, with startups to build webapps to make low carbon travel easer and more attractive in Europe, and NGOs to build social networking platforms to help to link entrepreneurs, funding bodies and technologists, to deliver low carbon energy in developing countries.

At Headshift, Chris divides his time between automating the company’s infrastructure with tools like Chef, and building sites for clients using open source tools like WordPress and Drupal.
